Dining Out

With such a wide variety of ethnicities, Cleveland has almost as wide a variety of
choices for eating out. Ohio City has lots of ethnic food options, as well as West Side
Market where you can nosh on a gyro or kielbasa sausage for virtually nothing.
Downtown Cleveland and Shaker Square also have numerous choices for every kind
of taste. Just remember that a service charge is expected whenever you eat at a
restaurant and that it's usually somewhere between 15% and 20%. Here are only a
few of the many options visitors have when they come and eat in Cleveland.
? Baricelli Inn. Located in University Circle and housed in a Victorian mansion
that's now a B&B, the Baricelli Inn presents boneless racks of lamb, salmon,
rosemary pesto, scallops and couscous just to name a few of its mouth
watering dishes. Herbs used to season the food come fresh from the inn's
garden. Plus there's an extensive wine list. Open-air dining is available in the
summer on the front patio. $25. Closed Sundays.
? Great Lakes Brewing Co. in downtown Ohio City offers delicious
accompaniments to it's varied selection of micro-brewed beers. Get a basket
of calamari, a sausage sampler, or the ribs. A specialty is the brew master's
pie, a hot and spicy mixture of sausage, spinach, mozzarella and ricotta cheese
baked in a flakey crust. Open air dining available in the courtyard. Lunches
are around $8 and dinners around $25. No lunch on Sunday.
? Indigo Indian Bistro. At 503 Prospect Avenue, try this charmingly decorated
establishment for a more exotic meal. The intoxicating aroma of curry and
tandoori will hit you the minute you walk in. Comfortable booths, high
ceilings and a friendly staff make for a wonderful dining experience.
Traditional Indian fare is served, and can be made spicy or mild according to
your taste. Try t he nan bread. $19 to $25.
